Privacy Policy
Last updated October 8, 2026
This policy explains how Gilson Games ("we", "us") handles information when you visit gilsongames.com (the "Site") or request access to the Keepers of the Crown closed beta. The short version: we collect very little, we only use it to run the beta, and we never sell it.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you request beta access, we collect your name, email address, who will be playing and any note you choose to add. You also confirm that you are 18 or older.
Information sent with a request
Your IP address, browser type and the date and time of your request are included with your beta request so we can spot spam and abuse.
Spam protection
To limit abuse of the form, our server keeps a one-way scrambled (hashed) copy of your IP address and the times of your recent requests. These records are deleted after about an hour.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information, such as IP addresses, pages requested and browser type, for security and troubleshooting.
We don't use advertising or social media tracking. Fonts and other files are served from our own server, not from third parties.
Cookies and local storage
- One cookie. The beta form sets a session cookie named
ggbetato run its quick math check. It's deleted when you close your browser. - Local storage. Bonk-a-Goblin saves your best score and sound setting in your own browser. This stays on your device, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
- Your cookie choice. We remember whether you accepted or declined optional statistics in your browser's local storage, so we don't ask again on every page.
How we use information
- To review your beta request and reply to you.
- To send beta invites, updates and questions about the beta.
- To keep the Site and the form safe from spam and abuse.
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We'll only email you about the beta unless you ask to hear about more.
Services we rely on
- Cloudflare. Cloudflare delivers and protects the Site. It processes your IP address to do this and hides our email address from spam bots. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Visit statistics (optional). Only if you choose "Accept" in our cookie banner, we load Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits anonymously. It doesn't use cookies or build a profile of you. You can change your choice any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
- Email and our server. Beta requests are delivered to us by email and also saved in a private, password-protected area of our website so we can keep track of invites.
- Hosting. Our hosting provider stores and serves the Site on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep beta requests for as long as the beta and launch are active, then delete them unless you've asked to stay in touch. Spam-protection records are deleted after about an hour. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Children's privacy
Our games are made for players of all ages, but the beta form is for adults. Requests must come from someone 18 or older, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the information we have about you, or to stop emailing you, by writing to [email protected]. Depending on where you live, such as California or the European Union, you may have additional rights under local law. We'll respond within 30 days.
Security
We use HTTPS, limit who can read beta requests and only collect what we need. No website or email system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
International visitors
We're based in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information will be handled in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also let beta testers know by email.
